Dear Dr. Pouls,

I am writing to say how grateful I am that you cam into my life. My daughter Hayley is a seven-year-old special needs child. When she was five and a half, she was not eating, and was almost off the weight chart. She was sick most of the time and had no speech. Almost immediately after receiving enzyme therapy, her appetite kicked in and she began gaining weight rapidly. She was taking Thymate to strengthen her immune system and now she rarely gets ill.
Hayley's urinalysis showed her system to be extremely toxic, containing a lot of undigested food. The changes I have seen in my 3-½ year old son since starting your enzyme recommendations have been incredible. After two weeks of supplementation, my son began talking and he suddenly potty-trained himself. His temper tantrums have nearly ceased during this time too. My son Max is an adorable seven year old with a disability called "Dyspraxia", which is an inability to coordinate motor functions. The messages that his body gets from his brain are not properly transmitted. Max's noticeable problem is his speech (very few understandable words, until just recently). He has problems focusing in school, therefore he has shown little interest in pre-writing tasks such as coloring, tracing, etc. He has two wonderful therapists that have been working with him for the last couple of years on his speech and occupational needs. He also has a full-time aide in the class room that works with him on behavior and social skills. Making friends has been very difficult for Max because of his lack of communication and behavior problems.
I first heard about Maile's nutrition program from a mother of twins that are the same age as Max and have the same disability. They had been on the program of enzymes and supplements for five months with remarkable results. Max's first lab test showed us that he was deficient in all of his nutrients. He had severe bowel toxicity, poor assimilation and poor digestion. He was actually losing muscle tissue due to his inability to assimilate proteins and fats correctly. Here we were doing everything possible to build muscle and develop the brain with various therapies, but he was severely malnourished. Max started on the enzymes and supplements right away. We also made some changes in diet recommended by Maile Pouls. After just three weeks his therapists, teacher and neighbors were telling me that he's like a new kid! They could not et over how much more alert, calm and cooperative he was.
Over the next two months we have seen many more improvements, especially in his classroom involvement. He is so much more focused on his work, participates in circle time activities, is trying his best to sing in music and has taken on a new interest in drawing and writing!!! Max totally surprised his occupational therapist and I by drawing people with all the details, emotions, etc. (he would be doing good to draw just a circle three months ago). He is now choosing to do pencil and paperwork. The very best part of all is that Max has just started to call his classmates by their names, and has added "You play with me?" He is getting a great response from the kids-they're playing with him! This means more to Max and I than everything else all put together. Max's most recent lab test (3 months after starting) shows that many of the issues he had before are at a normal level now, and everything is much improved.
I can't thank Maile enough for all the research she has done, helping my son and so many others with getting to optimum health and preventing the diseases and problems that eventually occur when these issues are overlooked. I praise the Lord for revealing the needs of my son's life to me, and leading us to the people who can make a difference!!

May 2, 2000-Update on Max's progress:

Max has started to show even more of an interest in the academics going on in his classroom. He went up to the chalkboard on his own and started to draw and write with another child. He is showing a new interest in using the computer. This is something that he wouldn't even attend to previously because of his lack of hand-eye coordination. The other night he just went over to the computer and started clicking on the places that he wanted to go. He then called me over to help him. His vocabulary and sentence structure also continue to increase.

Daughter diagnosed with Autism

Hi Michelle,

I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate all of the work that has gone into the Oral Chelation / Longevity Plus formula that Extended Health produces. We have seen remarkable improvememts in our daughter Katie since she began taking product.

As you know, our daughter Katie was diagnosed with Autism when she was about two years old. We have tried just about every intervention that we know of to help her. Although this prognosis is often grim, Katie has consistently made good progress throughtout the years - mostly due to her own determination. Enough so that we have held onto hope for her future.

We read about your products on the internet early in the year 2001 and we started Katie on the Oral Chelation /Longevity Plus formula (the complete package) on March 10th, 2001. Within just a few weeks, we started to see signs of improvement at an accelerated rate which we had not seen before.

In the Spring of 2001, three months after Katie started the chelation
therapy, Katie was awarded the most improved student award by her teachers in her class at Lexington Elementary school in El Cajon CA. Katie is one of only two autistic children in her non-severally-handicapped second grade classroom. She has never received any type of award like that before. At her IEP, the teachers were very impressed and intrigued with Katie's progress and were very eager to develop a more challenging cirriculum for Katie for the coming school year.

Katie continues to show accelerated improvement in her speech and language recognition, her cognitive skills, her memory and in her fine and gross motor skills. Katie has now taught herself how to ride her bicycle - with no training wheels. She is exhibiting much more age appropriate play than she has ever displayed before. She is initiating greetings and interacting with her siblings and classmates - something we only prayed that she would someday do. Katie has picked up over 100 sight words in the last month and is now reading first grade texts.

At night, Katie is the last of our four children to go to bed. She sits at
the kitchen table waiting for her nightly oral chelation regiment. As she takes each pill in hand, she examines it closely before she swallows it - chasing it down with her glass of milk. With a content look upon her face, she retires to her bed knowing that we have all done what we could to help her condition and believing that there is hope for her tomorrow.

Thank you again for helping us get Katie started with this therapy. We are looking forward to any new progress that we may see as a result of our decision to have Katie try the Oral Chelation therapy products produced by Extended Health.
