Making sure your body has the proper levels of minerals and low, levels of toxins can really make a difference in your well being. MineralCheck can help you make that difference.
MineralCheck is a safe, easy-to-use, and reliable screen that uses a small hair sample to measure your mineral and toxin levels. Hair samples show the long-term accumulation of minerals and toxic elements in your system. Hair is nourished from your bloodstream where minerals and toxics are found. This non-invasive and inexpensive screen provides you with the accuracy of a laboratory analysis without leaving the comfort of your own home. When you order your screen, we'll send you a complete kit. You collect the required hair sample and send it back to us in the prepaid return mailer provided. Within 7-10 working days of receiving your sample, we'll send your results to you.
This test enables you to read your results and compare them to the general population. You can then work with your healthcare provider to develop an appropriate program to maintain and promote good health.
Please Note...
Results and information are for personal use only, are not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent disease or other conditions, and are not intended to provide a determination or assessment of the state of health. Many factors influence mineral status, and this product reviews only 20 of these factors. Always consult with a licensed health care professional to interpret screen results and/or make healthcare decisions. This screen was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Before You Start...
There are no special diet restrictions for the MineralCheck screen. However, MineralCheck cannot be performed on hair that has been premed, dyed or bleached in the past two months. Also, shampoos with dyes, colorings or special chemicals must be discontinued for three days prior to cutting hair sample. We recommend using Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo® 14 days before collecting sample. Your hair must be dry when collecting the sample.
Care should be used in the evaluation of MineralCheck elemental analysis results. Hair treatments or other external contaminants may affect reported levels of an element. The laboratory washing procedure will remove those elements which are soluble, but some treatments make a permanent bond to the hair and cannot be removed. These contaminants may increase some element levels.
If the hair is short, stainless steel thinning shears may be used. You may find the sample collection process easier to complete with the help of a family member or friend.
The cost is $85.95 plus shipping of $7.75. This is the only time you will be charged for shipping. We mail the hair kit to you and you then cut your hair sample and mail it directly to the laboratory in the self addressed stamped package provided. The laboratory mails the results directly back to you within 10 business days. You may want to begin preparing your hair now before cutting it by washing it with Johnson & Johnson’s No More Tears Shampoo or an organic shampoo for a 1 and 1/2 week period. Do not use hair sprays or conditioners unless they are organic during this 1 and 1/2 week period of time. When cutting your hair, please cut small pieces from numerous areas in the back of the head, from ear to ear, from the crown down to the neck. If you cut small pieces not chunks, you should not notice a difference. When you cut the hair only give the laboratory the inch that is closest to the scalp and throw the remainder away. Care should be used in the evaluation of toxic heavy metals and mineral check hair analysis results. Hair treatments or other external contaminants may affect reported levels of an element. Some treatments make a permanent bond to the hair and cannot be removed. These contaminants may increase some element levels. (Examples would be dyes and colorings). Toxic elements can affect many areas, including brain function and activity, kidney damage and kidney blood flow, and symptoms such as insomnia, headaches, aches and pains and digestive problems. These are just a few of the numerous effects that can be listed and are reviewed in other parts of this web site. The Hair Test Kit is sent directly from you to Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratory. This laboratory is a leader in functional laboratory testing. You will receive an envelope which will include a paper hair scale, a plastic hair collection bag, a prepaid mailing envelope, and a health screen request form that must be signed and completed. Inside the envelope will also include detailed simple instructions on where and how to cut the sample.
When you receive your hair test envelope, if you have any questions you may call Extended Health directly at 1-800-300-6712
